Rolling up my sleeves and getting to work.

Day of Sacrifice has been released into the wild.  You can find it at Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and Smashwords.  I am also hosting an event on Goodreads giving away review copies. (If we’re friends on Goodreads, just message me and tell me you’d like to read it.)  Note I said REVIEW copies.  I’m hoping karma is with me and that everyone who reads DoS for free puts a short review up on Goodreads at the very least, preferably Amazon.  Help me get my name(s) out there!

And now I’m off to compile all the notes from all the betas who read Glimmer.  I have a combo of handwritten notes, lists, and paragraph notes, so I figure by the time I’m done getting them all together I’ll have a good idea of what needs the most work, where the typos are, and what I’m not going to change.  That last part may sound…I don’t know, conceited, but I changed everything everyone told me to change in Glimpse and with Glimmer I’m going to be a little more reserved.  If only one reader points something out, I will definitely take it into consideration, but I’m going to go with my gut in the end.  However, if more than one reader suggests something, then I know that it is something I need look at more closely.  Wish me luck!

  1. With HM, there were some things that were questioned, and in the end I went with my gut and left them. Then there was this one line. Joss was calling herself an idiot. She said to herself, Come on, be more smarter. So many betas questioned that line that K and I finally decided that not enough people understood that part of my sense of humor and it should go. Of course, after that, I told the story to another writer who mourned the loss of the grammar humor. I told her maybe someday there’d be a special edition of like 3 numbered copies, one for me, one for her, and one for ebay, with the line restored.

Good luck with your editing. I hope to read DoS soon! I’m going to go download it now.
